Tech N9ne at The Republik in Honolulu

Tech N9ne, the forty six year old rapper from Kansas City, Missouri is one of the most successful independent hip hop artists. Nine’s first album was released back in 1999 and since then the prolific writer has released twenty solo studio albums including his latest Planet. He has toured the world extensively, regularly performing up to 120 shows a year with Krizz Kaliko.

The duo arrived at The Republik, in Honolulu, Hawaii after completing sold our shows in Australia and New Zealand. A supportive and energetic fan base welcomed Tech N9ne to the stage. Right from the start it was apparent Tech N9ne has maintained the rhythmic vocal fury of a man half his age. The rapper launched into “Anti” followed by “Am I A Psycho.” Tech N9ne then introduced his partner Krizz Kaliko and blasted into “Stamina.” The duo have been sharing the stage since the late nineties. Kailiko’s infectious appeal has made him a favorite of fans for over a decade.

For close to ninety minutes the pair masterfully guided the audience through the nonstop party from beginning to end. During the set songs such as “Straight Out The Gate,” “Welcome To The Midwest,” and “Worldwide Choppers” featured their renowned accelerated, aggressive rap schemes. All through the performance the audience heads were bopping to the energy the duo radiated during the set.

During one break Tech N9ne boasted about all of the places throughout the world he has performed and confessed that he was currently suffering from a virus he caught on tour. His ailment didn’t slow down the performance. The concert returned to full swing with fan favorites “Speedom,” "Caribou Lou," and completed the show with “Hood Go Crazy.”

Both rappers displayed an incredible amount of energy throughout the night and the duo performed a perfectly executed performance. Probably one of the best rap shows to hit the islands this year. The duo will be embarking on an extensive “Independent Grind 2018” tour with Futuristic, Dizzy Wright, and Mackenzie Nicole. The forty nine date tour begins October 6th crisscrossing the country through December 1st. Don’t miss it!
