Mannequin Pussy's Electrifying Performance at Turner Hall

Updated: 4 days ago

Mannequin Pussy’s latest album, I Got Heaven (out March 1 via Epitaph), is their most ambitious and cohesive work yet—a raw, cathartic blend of searing punk and soaring pop. The Philadelphia band—Marisa Dabice, Colins “Bear” Regisford, Kaleen Reading, and newcomer Maxine Steen—delves into themes of desire, isolation, and resistance in an increasingly hostile world. Written collaboratively in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton, the album marks a shift from solitary songwriting to an intensely collective process.

Tracks like the explosive title opener and the dancey, reflective “Nothing Like” showcase the band’s range, while songs like “Of Her” and “OK? OK! OK? OK!” burn with righteous fury and emotional depth. Dabice’s lyrics interrogate faith, hypocrisy, and the need for communal care in a decaying world. With I Got Heaven, Mannequin Pussy deliver a bold, vital statement—furious, unfiltered, and full of life.
