HORTON’S HOLIDAY HAYRIDE


Starring The Reverend Horton Heat and Junior Brown with special guests The Blaster's and Big Sandy

Metro, Chicago November 30th, 2018

The Reverend Horton Heat brought their Horton’s Holiday Hayride to Metro in Chicago, IL on November 30th. The four-hour holiday extravaganza featured The Reverend Horton Heat, Junior Brown, The Blaster and Big Sandy.

The Dallas, Texas-based psychobilly trio, the Reverend Horton Heat, is led by singer, songwriter and guitarist James C. Heath, (AKA Reverend Horton Heat). The trio is rounded out with current members Jimbo Wallace on the upright bass and Scott Churilla on drums. The group has been playing its version of psychobilly since originally forming in 1985.

"Junior" Brown, the country guitarist and singer, is an “American Original”. Brown is known for playing his signature instrument the "guit-steel" - a hybrid electric guitar and lap steel guitar that he created.

The Blasters have been playing their self-described "American Music" - a blend of rockabilly, early rock and roll, punk rock, mountain music, and rhythm and blues since their formation in 1978 by brothers Phil Alvin (vocals and guitar) and Dave Alvin (guitar).

Big Sandy of Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys has been making music for over twenty-five years. Since first getting together to play with a group of musician friends in 1988,"Robert "Big Sandy" Williams has performed his version of rockabilly, rock & roll, honky-tonk, rhythm & blues, soul and doo-wop at over 3,000 live performances.
