Behemoth at Santander Arena

Behemoth

Behemoth joined Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Testament on the first leg of the Slayer Farewell Tour. Behemoth, hailing from Gdańsk, Poland, have been revolutionary in their country's extreme metal genre for nearly three decades. Behemoth has the ability to take a thirty-minute set and give you a headliners dose of a show. With a large banner suspended behind them, and metal eagles book-ending the stage, Nergal (vocals) took his place in front of an intricate sigil mic stand as the band powered into "Ov Fire and the Void."

Behemoth brings a heavier and moodier black metal to the tour, and their onstage presence ties the entire performance together with a nice little black leather bow. Behemoth recently released a live DVD/Blu-ray, Messe Noire, via Metal Blade Records as a conclusion to The Satanist Tour. Messe Noire includes shows from Warsaw, Poland and Brutal Assault 2016, along with the music videos from 2014's The Satanist. Nergal has reported that the band are working on their follow-up record, and hope for it to be completed by the end of 2018. The six song set at Santander Arena closed out with the band returning to the stage and breaking into "O Father O Satan O Sun!"
